About Me

Guiding you to tell your stories the way they’re meant to be told.

C. M. Koch, storyteller

Hi, I’m Chantelle, and I’m a natural storyteller. I’ve always had a way with words, and ever since I can remember, I’ve felt a strong urge to tell stories in any way I can. Because of this, I fell into acting (or trying to act) which led me to do some theatre and performance classes at university. My favourite one ended up being directing. But no matter what I was doing, I always found my way back to the written word.

Not only are words poetic, but they’re also magical. I don’t necessarily believe in magic, but I believe in the magic that words hold. As Neil Gaiman once said, ‘I can write down a few words and make people thousands of miles away, whom I have never met and will never meet, laugh tears of joy and cry tears of true sorrow for people who do not exist and have never existed and never will exist. If that isn’t actual literal magic I don’t know what is.’

Qualifications and experience

I graduated in early 2023 with a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Creative Writing and Publishing) from the University of the Sunshine Coast and am currently working as a full-time content writer while reaching for the star that is my full-time author and editor career.

My short story The Atlas of Time was published in the University of the Sunshine Coast’s student anthology in 2023. I also performed a structural edit, copy edit, and proofread on three separate short stories in the anthology. In 2022, I interned at Queensland Writers Centre where I learnt of another side to the creative writing industry and gained experience reading and reviewing manuscripts.

I spend my days working at a medical marketing agency writing website and social media content for medical practices. I occasionally receive the odd editing job, and every time it always brings me so much joy.

My life in a nutshell

I write and edit young adult, new adult, and adult stories about love, war, corruption, betrayal, and everything in between. The stories and characters I write are inspired by the books I’ve spent my entire life reading and the life I’ve spent living.

I have a huge respect for self-published authors (hoping to be one myself one day) and understand how difficult the journey to publication can be for them. I hope that my professional editing services can fill a gap in the Australian self-publishing industry and help authors make their stories shine. However, I also offer my editing services to all authors whether self-published or traditionally published, in and outside of Australia.

When not writing, working, or editing, I can be found reading, exercising, daydreaming, watching TV and movies, spending time with my friends, family, and partner, and playing with my ruthless cat.

Let’s work together to make your story shine!
