What’s included:
In-line comments are always included with a sample edit, but depending on whether the sample is for a developmental or copy & line edit, an editorial letter may also be included.
Editorial letter, focusing on:
Pacing, tension, suspense
Characters, their development, POVs, and relevancy within the story
Genre and word count
Plot and story structure, including plot holes and inconsistencies
World-building, magic systems, etc.
Subplots, including their believability and relevancy

The developmental (or structural) edit is often the first step in your editing journey (after any alpha and beta reads). This edit focuses on the structure of the story, including plot elements, character development, pacing, and worldbuilding.

The copy and line edit combo is designed for stories that have already undergone a developmental edit. This edit looks at the finer details of the manuscript like spelling and punctuation, ensuring the story flows well.
What’s included:
Sample edit prior to booking
In-line comments, focusing on:
Spelling mistakes, not including words purposefully misspelled for the world, such as names and places
Correcting punctuation
Identifying writing style and tone and ensuring consistency throughout the story
Highlighting instances of telling vs showing, awkward phrasing, repetition, redundancies, etc.
Ensuring consistency with POV and tense
Continued access to me through email or social media messages for any questions or concerns related to the edit
