About the Author

First, this woman gets me to write her entire book. Then, she has me write the blurb. And now she also wants me to write her gods damned author bio? What am I supposed to say about her? I know nothing other than the fact that she writes books, except really, I’m writing the books (at least, the ones in this series). She’s just writing the words that I’m writing. Does that make sense?

Let me tell you a little something about me. I’m the narrator, and I’m unfortunately unnamed at the present time—although, it’s probably for the best. Not unnamed to the author, of course—she knows everything—but I am simply unnamed to the readers. To you. I wish I could tell you more, but that would spoil the rest of the story, and we certainly don’t want that. This is also sadly not an “About the Narrator” section. Perhaps we could do that once I’m revealed.

Hey, C, did you catch that? We should do a section about me in the later books.

So, about the author. C. M. Koch (or as I like to call her, C) spends her days transporting herself into fictional worlds so much so that if she were to get a song lyric tattooed on her it would be ‘I hate it here so I will go to secret gardens in my mind’ from Taylor Swift’s I hate it here (The Tortured Poets Department).

She spends majority of her writing time either staring at a blank page or doing literally anything other than writing, claiming, ‘At least I’m being productive!’ (News flash, C, that doesn’t make the procrastination any better). But during the rare moments that words are actually flowing through her veins, it’s as if her fingers can weave magical threads that craft enchanting worlds, captivating stories, and emotionally traumatised characters. Sometimes even she is mesmerised by what she creates.

C graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2023 with a Bachelor of Creative Industries, and uses that now to create characters like me that live completely rent free in her mind (if you gave us occupations instead of emotional trauma, C, perhaps we could pay you rent).

When she isn’t staring at a computer screen, you’ll most likely find her staring at her phone or TV screens instead. She does, in fact, have plenty of family and friends, but instead she chooses the hermit crab life along with her partner and cat.
